Emergency Medicine Unit
The Emergency Medicine Unit (EMU) was established in November 2014. The unit aims to become a hub of teaching and research of Emergency Medicine in the Asia Pacific region.
The staff of EMU are responsible for the teaching of medical students in Emergency Medicine in the MBBS curriculum. As EMU is a key strategic partner of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, it also contributes to the development of Disaster Medicine in Hong Kong. The professoriate staff of EMU provide specialist clinical services at the 24 hour Outpatient and Emergency Department of the Gleneagles (Hong Kong) Hospital and the Accident & Emergency Department of Queen Mary Hospital. The unit also has close collaboration with the Accident & Emergency Department of the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital in teaching and research.
