Biography

Dr. LP Leung was a consultant emergency physician before joining the Emergency Medicine Unit as clinical associate professor in May 2015. He has extensive experience in teaching and clinical research in Emergency Medicine.

He is working with the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute in developing a Disaster Medicine curriculum for both undergraduates and postgraduates, and organizing training programmes for practicing clinicians, paramedics and the public regarding disaster preparedness and awareness. His scholarly interests also include prehospital medicine, emergency geriatrics and pedagogical methodologies. His current focus is on the integration of technology in the chain of survival so as to improve the prognosis of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He and his team have developed mobile applications for automated external defibrillator location and CPR training as well as online educational resources for CPR.
